Ageing and Osteoporosis

Abstract


As people age, their risks for osteoporosis increase. Ageing causes bones to thin and weaken. In both men and women, bone mass gradually declines after about age 30. In women, bone loss accelerates after menopause. Adults are susceptible ethnic groups are susceptible to developing osteoporosis, Caucasian and Asian women and men face a comparatively greater risk.
